India defeated Bangladesh in the opening Asia Cup game on Wednesday night by 45 runs. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field where India scored 166 runs with Rohit Sharma adding 83. India lost three early wickets but Rohit Sharma put on a show taking India to 166 runs with his knock of 83 runs of just 55 balls.



Bangladesh failed to negotiate with Indian paces and lost wickets first two wickets inside 15 runs. Sabbir Rahman’s 44 of 32 balls gave a bit of hope but lower order fail to add runs quickly, pressure mounted and Bangladesh stumbled on what was a difficult wicket to bat on.

Bangladesh will host 2016 Asia Cup and they will start their campaign against India in the opening game on Wednesday, 24th February 2016 in what will be the first ever T20 game in Asia Cup. Bangladesh has become quite a formidable limited over team at home and their recent home result suggest they can not be taken lightly anymore. An highly successful 2014-15 season where they defeated the likes of Pakistan, India, South Africa and Zimbabwe in 50-over fomats, set them up nicely as they hunt their very first Asia Cup title.
