Indian Premier League 2016 Complete team list Mumbai Indians IPL 2016 Team Squad

Indian Premier League 2016 Complete team list Mumbai Indians IPL 2016 Team Squad. The glitzy Indian Premier League (IPL) starts on Saturday, helping to ease the heartache of millions of fans following India’s failure to win the World T20 on home soil this month.India’s short-form extravaganza, famous for its fireworks and dancing cheerleaders as well as unwanted corruption scandals, gets under way with the Mumbai Indians taking on the Rising Pune Supergiants.

Fans hope the cash-rich league, featuring blockbuster stars including Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli, will soothe the pain of India’s shock semi-final defeat to eventual World T20 champions West Indies.India went into the tournament as favourites but seriously under-performed, losing to New Zealand and only beating Bangladesh on the last ball before prevailing over Australia to scrape into the final four.“It was a below par performance by Dhoni and company. I hope IPL helps us overcome the pain of the semis loss,” Kolkata Knight Riders supporter Nehal Ahmed told AFP.

The ninth edition of the franchise-based competition, which has revolutionised world cricket, will see eight teams clash in 60 matches at 10 different venues across India.
Malinga is the IPL's all-time leading wicket-taker and last year he finished second in the list with 24 scalps from 15 innings, playing a crucial part in Mumbai Indians' title-winning campaign. The only worry this time round will be his fitness as he was earlier ruled out of Sri Lanka's World T20 squad due to knee injury. Though he has been ruled out for two weeks, a fit Malinga is a treat to watch in the shortest format of the game and his slinging toe-crushers are now folklore in the IPL circuit. If he plays in a majority of the games, the defending champions will be a force to reckon with this season too.
Held in South Africa due to elections in India, Adam Gilchrist-led Deccan Chargers, who were the underdogs in the tournament, faced Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final of IPL 2 on May 24, 2009. Bangalore captain Anil Kumble took 4 wickets to restrict Deccan to 143/6 built around Herschelle Gibbs' unbeaten 53. But none of the Bangalore batsmen put up a decent score as Deccan won the final by 6 runs.
Manish Pandey became the first Indian to hit a century in the IPL when he smashed 4 sixes and 10 fours in his 73-ball 114 against Deccan Chargers at SuperSport Park in Centurion on May 21, 2009. Bangalore won the match by 12 runs. Yuvraj Singh's first hat-trick in the IPL with the scalps of Robin Uthappa, Jacques Kallis and Mark Boucher were not enough as Punjab lost the match to Bangalore by 8 runs at Kingsmead in Durban on May 1, 2009.
In the team for his batting, the extra-ordinarily talented Rohit Sharma won the match for Hyderabad by his bowling by registering figures of 4/6 off just 2 overs that consisted of a hat-trick with scalps of Mumbai's Harbhajan Singh, JP Duminy and Saurabh Tiwary on May 6, 2009 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Yuvraj Singh took his second hat-trick in the IPL when he dismissed Herschelle Gibbs on the last ball of the 12th over of Hyderabad innings and then scalped Andrew Symonds and Venugopal Rao off the first two deliveries of his next over as Punjab won a thrilling match by just one run at the Wanderers on May 17, 2009.
