IPL 2016 | Live Streaming | Live Score | Points Table Daredevils need to keep wickets Highlights

IPL 2016 | Live Streaming | Live Score | Points Table Daredevils need to keep wickets Highlights, IPL 2016 | Live Streaming | Live Score | Points Table Daredevils need to keep wickets Highlights. In IPL 9, 13 of the 14 games have been won by sides batting second. Experts feel a target makes life easier for batsmen, helping them chalk out strategy. In 15 games, only six have seen par scores (160 or more), and in these the side batting first has rarely lost wickets in a bunch at crucial situations.

Ahead of the Delhi Daredevils match against Mumbai Indians, Daredevils middle-order batsman Karun Nair too felt the need to keep wickets batting first. “Keeping wickets in hand is what I would do,” he said.
In the six games where teams have managed over 160, there have been partnerships and fewer wickets have been lost at crucial intervals. For instance, KXIP made 161 against Gujarat Lions and the innings was studded with partnerships. Kolkata Knight Riders made 187 against Mumbai because three of their first four batsmen scored. Royal Challengers scored 227 against Sunrisers Hyderabad with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers putting up a show, and the side scored 191 against Daredevils with the top order firing again.
“Batsmen have gone for too much batting first and have fallen behind. As the tournament progresses, the balance will shift,” said Nair. His assessment is correct for the nine games that did not see a par score. In five of them, teams lost two or more wickets in power-play. Once that is the case, rebuilding is on the mind of batsmen. Mumbai lost four wickets against Pune, Daredevils lost four against Knight Riders, Sunrisers lost three against KKR and Mumbai lost two against Gujarat and Sunrisers.
It is Match 17 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 as Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium, Delhi on Saturday. Both MI and DD have four points in hand currently, winning two of the matches they have played and looking at the squads they have, it is surely going to be a neck-to-neck competition between the two teams. The defending champions started off on a disappointing note while DD also had a similar run before both the sides manged to register two wins later on. With both the teams getting into the groove gradually, it will be interesting to see how a well-bound MI faces a freshly combined DD. Ahead of their clash, here is the likely XI for Mumbai Indians.
Top-order: The top-order of MI has their captain Rohit Sharma opening for the side. Rohit has led the team to two successful hunts in IPL and knows the game pretty well. With him on top, it becomes quite strong. For the other end, Rohit can opt for Unmukt Chand. The latter has before played well in IPL for the team and is coming from a good domestic season. His experience as a Delhi cricketer can also come in handy for the team. With the top two settled, the No. 3 spot goes to Ambati Rayudu who looks in a good touch too.
Middle-order: The pillar of middle-order has to be Jos Buttler. The England batsman has done decently with the bat so far but is expected to better that. Buttler is the one upon whom the team can rely post a top-order collapse and he will have to take up the responsibilities looking at the experience that he has. Following him, comes out Kieron Pollard who has strong hands to hit it all over the park while Harbhajan Singh can be sent after Pollard to complement the batting. After him, Krunal Pandya will be the right person to take the crease and add some last moment runs.
While MI has mostly huffed and puffed on their way to winning two matches out of five, the Daredevils have bounced back strongly after their loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders. The win against Kings XI Punjab gave them the confidence, and beating Royal Challengers Bangalore further solidified that belief. Opener Quinton de Kock, who is fast becoming their batting mainstay, has 184 runs in three innings, including a 51-ball 108. The untested batting order might be a concern, but Karun Nair's timely contribution, to go with Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer gives them hope.

IPL 2016 - Live Cricket Streaming & Live Cricket Score Samson, Duminy power Delhi Daredevils to 164/4 against Mumbai Indians, IPL 2016 - Live Cricket Streaming & Live Cricket Score Samson, Duminy power Delhi Daredevils to 164/4 against Mumbai Indians.NEW DELHI: Confident after back-to-back wins, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to continue their winning form when they take on an underperforming Kings XI Punjab at Rajiv Gandhi International stadium, their home ground, in the second match of the day on Saturday. With two wins, SRH have somewhat got back their campaign back on track, while KXIP have slumped to the bottom of the table with three losses.

After losing two games in a row, SRH set their house in order and registered two wins with huge margins - first defeating Mumbai Indians by seven wickets and then taming Gujarat Lions with 10 wickets. Since the inception of the IPL, a 10-wicket win has only occurred eight times. Kings XI are in desperate need of a win here, but against a resurgent SRH, it won't come easy.Asked about Saturday's game, Nair said: "I think we have momentum on our side. Mumbai Indians are a good side, they are the defending champions. So whichever team plays well on the day will win the game. We are just concentrating on our process. We will give our best on the ground." Chasing a target has been the preferred choice of most teams in the ongoing IPL and Nair feels all the sides have worked on this aspect over the years.
"The teams have become smart over the years. They come out with certain strategies. They know how to chase and when to go after which bowler. The teams are chasing really well. In the past years chasing has been a problem for every team but every team has really worked on that aspect," the batsman from Karnataka said.
Nair feels having a young and vibrant side under Rahul Dravid's mentorship has been a blessing in disguise for the Daredevils this time around. "The good thing is that all of us are young and we want to improve everyday. Everyone is looking forward to their opportunities. All of us are hungry to do well for the team.
The intensity on the field is also very high," he said. "I have been lucky to be mentored by him (Dravid) for the last few years. For any youngster to have him in the team is an inspiration. We are just trying to make the most of him being there and get as much out of him as possible," Nair said about Dravid.
Nair said the level between domestic cricket and IPL is vast and as batsman he just wants to make the most of the opportunities. "I think there is a lot of difference between domestic cricket and IPL. The mindset changes but cricket doesn't change. I look forward to playing my natural game. The level of cricket is different in domestic and IPL. It's a huge step for any young domestic player," Pandya will be under extreme pressure as his brother has shown his calibre both with the bat and the ball. Sharma said “He [Krunal Pandya] has been impressive, there is no doubt about that. He’s got something about him. He knows his bowling and understands the conditions well. It makes my job easier. He sets his own field and that shows.”
Sharma will be a happier man as Kieron Pollard found his power-hitting skills in the last match against Royal Challengers. Pollard's 39 off 19 balls proved crucial for the victory against RCB.
The bowling department led by Southee, McCleneghan, Bumrah and Harbhajan Singh has done extremely well. Mumbai Indians, with this settled side, can look forward to the forthcoming matches with confidence.
My playing XI for Mumbai Indians:
Rohit Sharma (captain), Parthiv Patel, Ambati Rayudu, Jose Buttler, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenegan and Tim Southee.

IPL 2016 Samson

Samson then chose Harbhajan's 12th over to increase the tempo as he hit a massive 108-metre six over the bowler in the first ball and two balls later followed that up with a four at backward square leg. The veteran offspinner bore the burn as he conceded 14 in the over, highest of the innings. In the next over, Mumbai was in a spot of bother when Hardik and Jos Buttler collided at deep backward square leg while trying to save a boundary and seemed to have hurt themselves.
Samson completed his fifty off 40 balls with the help of a six and four boundaries as he kept the Delhi charge moving forward with Duminy in the middle. They took the hosts to 110/3 after 15 overs to set a good platform for the final assault. McClenaghan came back to dismiss Samson in the 17th over to end the crucial partnership with Duminy. But thanks to the Samson-Duminy stand, Delhi scored 99 runs in the final ten overs and converted the total to a competitive one.

After 6 overs, Mumbai 52/1 ( Rohit Sharma 31 , Ambati Rayudu 20)
It's raining boundaries at the Feroz Shah Kotla. However, Rayudu gets a lifeline. Shami faces the heat as he concedes three fours in the fourth over. Rohit with a beautiful extra cover drive and then Rayudu with a chinese cut along with a sublime flick through mid-wicket. Morris then bowls four tight deliveries which entices Rayudu into a slash off the next ball, he gets an outside edge and Duminy at first can't hold on to a diving catch. It was touch but still, a chance gone abegging. Zaheer Khan then comes back to bowls a disciplined over and gives away just five runs. 20 runs off the last 3 overs.

After 3 overs, Mumbai 32/1 ( Rohit Sharma 23 , Ambati Rayudu 8)
An eventful start this for MI. Rohit cracks a couple of lovely fours off the first over from Zaheer but is beaten three times in a row by the former India pacer. Shami then bowls a tight second over in which he gives away just 5 runs and includes the run out of Parthiv. Rohit then lays into Negi and cracks him for three fours and Rayudu joins in with one more. Negi was too short or too full and Rohit punished him. 19 runs off the Negi over.
17:42 (IST)

Delhi Daredevils have posted 164/4

DD have finished off well, but they might still find themselves short. 7 runs from the McClenaghan over but then Nagi hammers one over mid-wicket off Bumrah for a four and then Duminy scoops one over fine leg. There is drama off the last ball as Bumrah Bumrah has Duminy caught off a high full toss. The third umpire declared it a no ball which seemed harsh.  However, it yielded just a run as DD scored 16 runs off the last over. Duminy remains unbeaten on 49 off 31 balls.
17:29 (IST)
After 18 overs, Delhi 141/4 ( JP Duminy 39 , Pawan Negi 1)
Duminy has made sure that DD haven't bogged down. He scooped one over keeper's head for a four off Bumrah. Samson then hammered one over wide long on off McClenaghan for a six before departing next ball. But then Duminy continued his assault as he cut one through pooint for four and the placed one to perfection through backward point for another four off Bumrah. Duminy then found gaps with precision of a surgeon as some brilliant running saw him pick up a couple of 2s. 31 runs off the last 3 overs.
DELHI: Sanju Samson scored a fifty and put on a crucial 71-run stand with JP Duminy to power Delhi Daredevils to 164/4 against Mumbai Indians in the Game 17 of the Indian Premier League season nine at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadiun in Delhi on Saturday.
Samson top-scored for the hosts with 60 off 48 balls with the help of two sixes and four boundaries and Duminy's unbeaten 31-ball 49 knock came with two sixes and three fours. For Mumbai, Mitchell McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers as he got the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Samson to finish with the figures of two for 31 runs in four overs.
Sent in to bat, in-form De Kock started the Delhi innings with back-to-back boundaries in the first two balls off Tim Southee, the first went straight down the ground and the next went past cover fielder. But he couldn't continue further as in the very next over McClenaghan gave away just one single in five balls before forcing De Kock (9) to edge one to Hardik Pandya at backward point.
