Virat Kohli, who is leading Royal Challengers Bangalore, needs all of 67 runs to aggregate 500 runs in IPL 2016. If Kohli gets the runs, the batting star will then become the first captain in IPL to score 500-plus runs in three separate editions. Tendulkar has done this twice for Mumbai Indians'>Mumbai Indians.
Even if Royal Challengers Bangalore do not qualify for the IPL playoffs, Kohli will get at least five games to score the necessary 67 runs. Considering his good run with the bat - Kohli holds the Orange Cap for being the highest run-getter in IPL 2016 with 433 runs - breaking Tendulkar's record should be a formality.
As Mumbai Indians' captain, Tendulkar who scored over 500 runs in two editions of the IPL -- 618 in 2010 and 553 in 2011. Kohli achieved this feat too -- 634 in 2013 and 505 in 2015.
The right-hander is 67 runs shot of reaching the 500-run mark in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.Should he get there, the Delhi batsman will became the only captain to score over 500 runs in three seasons of the league.
Former Mumbai Indians skipper Tendulkar achieved this feat on two occasions.
At the moment, the 27-year-old is assured of at least fives games to score these runs.
Kohli, with 433 runs, currently holds the Orange Cap. He scored 634 and 505 runs in 2013 and 2015 respectively. This year, Virat has the perfect chance to break the record (currently held by him only) for highest runs scored by a captain in a single IPL season.

Over 6 || Score 51/0 (Q de Kock 37; S Samson 12)
Another bowling change and Axar Patel on. He is the only bowler this season to take a hat-trick.
But his first over today has just been milked.
Needing 147 runs from 90 balls at the start of the over, Quinton de Kock started the over with back-to-back doubles. A six, swept with authority, followed.
A four as he cracked through cover.
Two more singles, and 16 runs from the over.
Over 5 || Score 35/0 (Q de Kock 22; S Samson 11)
Bowling change, and Marcus Stoinis on.
A single, then back-to-back fours as Quinton de Kock soon applied pressure on the new bowler. First four was a well-timed cut shot, and the second one, an even more beautiful shot, timed to perfection, which beat an already chasing fielder from extra cover.
Two singles, and a leg-bye more to make it a 12-run over.
Over 4 || Score 23/0 (Q de Kock 13; S Samson 9)
But Mohit Sharma continued. A single to Sanju Samson to start the over. A dot ball, then Quinton de Kock played a lofted drive over the extra cover fielder for a four.
A single, then a straight drive from Samson for a single. The over ended with de Kock playing an impoverished shot for a single.
Chasing the batsman, Mohit didn't batsman no room and de Kock was forced to get back to play that shot towards square leg.
seven runs from the over.
Over 3 || Score 16/0 (Q de Kock 8; S Samson 7)
Bowling change from Kings XI Punjab. KC Cariappa on.
The leg-spinner started with a dot to Quinton de Kock, then singles of alternate balls.
de Kock swept powerfully for a four off the fifth ball. A dot more, and 6 runs from the former Kolkata Knight Riders bowler.
Delhi Daredevils need another 166 runs from 17 overs.
MOHALI:  Wriddhiman Saha hit a scintillating half-century as Kings XI Punjab managed a formidable 181 for 5 against Delhi Daredevils in an Indian Premier League encounter, here tonight.
Wriddhiman's 33-ball-52 which comprised seven boundaries was well-complemented by a 44-ball-52 from Marcus Stoinis after Zaheer Khan put the home team into bat.
The Test specialist, who has had uneventful IPL since the start of the 2015 edition finally got a score of significance after 19 innings. Incidentally, it was his first 50 plus score after his century in the 2014 IPL final.
There were two significant partnerships in the KXIP innings. 58 for the third wicket between Stoinis and Wriddhiman while the Bengal stumper also enjoyed a quickfire 46-run stand in 4.1 overs with Glenn Maxwell (16).
For the Daredevils, Chris Morris (2/30 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler while skipper Zaheer Khan (1/25 in 3 overs) had a decent outing. Mohammed Shami (1/34 in 3 overs) had a lean day so did the consistent leg-spinner Amit Mishra (0/37 in 4 overs).
The last 6 overs produced 75 runs for the Kings XI Punjab who posted their highest team total of season-9 so far.
Murali Vijay (25, 16 balls) started with a flurry of boundaries as he was in a mood to punish Morris, who finally got his revenge when KXIP skipper's short arm pull was brilliantly snapped by Carlos Brathwaite standing at mid-wicket.

Wicket: 50 and out
Marcus Stoinies, for all the poor running between the wickets early in the innings, recovered admirably to compile a half-century. Unfortunately, immediately after completing the half-century, he lofts one in the air off Zaheer and is caught. Good catch. Good partnership. Saha is going strong and now is as good a time as any for Glenn Maxwell to come out and accelerate proceedings. Not the worst thing to happen, one would reckon.
Update: Saha, Stoinis begin KXIP rebuild
After losing those two quick wickets just after the powerplay, Stoinis and Saha have done really well. The boundaries have come at regular intervals but most importantly, the running between the wickets has been exemplary.
Wicket: Shambolic running between the wickets costs Amla
What did Amla and Stoinis have during that time-out? They tried three times to get run-out, Delhi didn't oblige and then finally on the fourth attempt, Zaheer Khan had enough and fired in a decent throw to QDK, who knocked off the bails to catch the South African short of his crease. 1 off 5 for the stylish right-hander on debut. Delhi back in this.
The closest thing to this running between the wicket was between Gambhir and Yuvraj during the 2011 World Cup quarterfinal. Let me see if I can source that video.
Wicket: Vijay falls; KXIP have 45 in the powerplay

In comes the mighty Hash, for the first time in IPL history.
Update: Vijay, Stoinis off to sparkling startS. Nadeem bowled an excellent first over but Kings XI have capitalised on the successive overs to get a good start to the game. Murali Vijay the captain started the flurry of boundaries with a succession of boundaries off Md. Shami. Not to be left behind, Stoinis helps himself to a couple of fours as well. The Daredevils bowlers have been guilty of dropping far too many balls down to the batsmen's pads. Not good.

The IPL is nine this year, still a child as leagues around the world go, but one where you can now see changes popping up here and there, especially in the way it is played. Indeed, every couple of years you see something that makes you wonder: is this how it is going to be? And then, bowlers and batsmen get wiser and everyone has to discover newer subtleties in this frenetic game.
End of innings: Axar cameo propels KXIP to 181

This is now their best score of IPL 2016. Good start, wobble, recovery, accelaration, wobble, good finish - that was the story of the Punjab innings. After Saha and Maxwell fell in succession, Axar tonked a few to propel the hosts to 181. Good score. But will it be enough?
Wickets: Maxwell, Saha fall in quick succession
Oh, Delhi coming back Sahahere. Two quick wickets that could end up denying the hosts the final flourish. Maxwell is the first to fall as he misses a Chris Morris full toss, attempting a fancy shot over short-fine and gets out bowled. Saha falls in the next over when he slices a length delivery from Shami straight to mid off. Losing momentum here. Can Miller and Axar take them to 180?
Milestone: Brisk half-century from Saha
Wriddhiman Saha completes a 29-ball half-century. He has been promoted above both Maxwell and Miller and the promotion is justified. He's timed everything today. The odd lapse has been compensated by Delhi's abject fielding.

IPL T20 Live Cricket and Watch Online IPL Virat Kohli's Unbeaten 108 Powers RCB To Seven Wicket Win Over RPS

IPL T20 - Live Cricket and Watch Online IPL Virat Kohli's Unbeaten 108 Powers RCB To Seven Wicket Win Over RPS, IPL T20 - Live Cricket and Watch Online IPL Virat Kohli's Unbeaten 108 Powers RCB To Seven Wicket Win Over RPS.The Supergiants's bowlers failed to pose any threat to both Kohli and KL Rahul, who shared the hosts' first fifty-run stand of the season for the opening wicket. Rahul played an able support to Kohli, who produced another masterclass. Kohli peppered the cover region consistently and helped Royal Challengers Bangalore race away to 94 for 0 after 11.

Whilst the likes of RP Singh and Thisara Perera were tackled with ease, and even taken for runs, the Supergiants's trump card turned out to be IPL debutant Adam Zampa - who replaced an injured Murugan Ashwin. Zampa provided the visitors a double-wicket break, accounting for Rahul (38 off 35) and AB de Villiers (1) in the 12th over, conceding only three runs. The leg-spinner, who was introduced into the attack after the powerplay, witnessed the class of Kohli first-hand after two vintage boundaries in the ninth over. However, after an opening over of 11, he came back strongly to induce a little extra turn that did Rahul in as George Bailey obliged willingly at deep cover. Off the last ball, de Villiers sliced a legbreak straight to Perera at long off, who held on to the catch after pedalling backwards.
The momentum switched sides again as Shane Watson hammered Perera for five boundaries in the 14th over. Perera was ousted from the attack after conceding 40 off three overs. After a stellar bowling outing with 3 for 24, Watson then raced away to 36 off 12 balls, before being trapped by RP in the 16th over with 49 to get in 27 balls. R Ashwin was introduced into the attack only in the 17th over and bowled only the one for the match after conceding 7.
Zampa, who returned to bowl his final over with figures of 2 for 17, was taken apart by an composed Kohli, for 18 runs, reducing the equation to 22 to get off the final two overs. With bulk of the work done, Bangalore bagged a crucial two points as Kohli finished the job unbeaten on 108 off 58 - the only Indian player in IPL history to score two centuries in one season. His phenomenal effort included seven sixes and eight fours.
Rahane's stellar tournament continued in fine fashion as he cruised to his sixth fifty. His 74 off 48 balls anchored Pune's innings of 191 for 6 - with Bangalore conceding a score of 170-plus once again, as they have all season.
Kohli and Rahul constructed a 94 run partnership. Later, Rahul fell to Adam Zampa while going for a huge shot, caught by George Bailey near the boundary.
Though Ab de Villiers (1) faltered, Watson rose to the occasion with a quick fire 13-ball 36-run knock.
The veteran Australian all-rounder blasted five fours and two sixes to emerge valuable with the bat as well after a fine bowling performance.
His show got over after he was declared leg before the wicket off Singh in the 16th over while attempting a big heave.
Meanwhile, Kohli saw to it that the asking rate fell down steadily and swiftly. From an asking rate of 142 runs in 78 balls after the beginning of the match, it fell down to 122 runs needed in 66 balls and 98 in 54 balls and later 77 in 38.
By the end of the 19th over, RCB needed 16 runs off eight ball and four runs off six balls in the final over, Travis Head (6) took a single giving the strike to Kohli.
Excited and entertained fans in the stadium stood up flashing their glowing cell phones to witness the victory coming from Kohli's bat. With one run needed in four balls, Kohli cracked a four to claim the victory.
Adam Zampa 2/35 performed the best with the ball for PSG while R. P. Singh 1/37 was the only other bowler to manage a wicket.
The match, however, turned on its head and in Bangalore's favour as the home side milked 39 runs off two overs -- 20 from 14th bowled by Perera and 19 from the 15th by Bhatia. Watson smashed a hapless Perera for five fours in a scintilalting show of strokemaking. He then hit Bhatia for two sixes as the bowler bled 19 runs.

That brought down the asking rate to 10 an over and immediately Watson was out LBW to Singh in the 16th over.
Ashwin was introduced in the 17th over and he gave away seven runs and after that he was not used as Kohli made the stadium on fire with a flurry of lusty blows to take the game away from Pune.
Earlier, Ajinkya Rahane and Saurabh Tiwary smashed half centuries to power Pune to an imposing 191 for six after being put into bat.
While opener Rahane made 74 off 48 balls with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes, Tiwary's 52 came off 39 balls during which he struck nine boundaries.
Yazuvendra Singh Chahal was the only bowler for Bangalore to pick up the lone wicket as Usman Khawaja who was run out for 16 runs off six balls with two boundaries and a six.
Pune had a poor start as Khawaja lost his wicket when the score was 26 on the board in 2.2 overs.
The dismissal, however, brought together Rahane and Tiwary, who played sensibly and took the bowling apart when required as they hit some exquisite shots to put together 106 runs for the second wicket.

Virat Kohli, with his second century of the tournament, led the hosts to a seven-wicket win, reaching 195 for 3 with three balls to spare. Rain was touted to play spoilsport for the fixture, with showers pelting the city on successive days in the lead-up, which perhaps was part reason why Kolhi opted to bowl, apart from his comfort of chasing. But there was no sign of any rain, much to the delight of a packed crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
engaluru, May 7 (IANS) Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli smashed a masterful century to snatch a much needed seven-wicket victory against Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Saturday.
Requiring 192 runs in 20 overs, RCB spared three balls to score 195/3 as unbeaten Kohli scored a 58-ball-108, packed with seven sixes and eight fours. He was ably supported by Shane Watson (36) and opening partner Lokesh Rahul (38).
Man-of-the-match Kohli is the first batsman to hit two centuries in a single IPL edition until now. He reached his century in style with a six at the end of the 19th over in paceman R.P. Singh's bowling. His century came in 52 balls with seven fours and seven sixes at the Chinnaswami Stadium.
What looked like an unexciting chase in the beginning without boundaries until after three overs transformed into a entertaining innings, thanks to the consistent Kohli.Initially, Pune bowlers Ashok Dinda and R.P. Singh frustrated openers Kohli and Rahul -- no boundaries were leaked in the first three overs.
Bengaluru: Captain Virat Kohli smashed his second century of the season in a magnificent batting display to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore to a thrilling seven-wicket win over Rising Pune Supergiants in an IPL match in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Kohli struck an unbeaten 108 off just 58 balls with the help of eight fours and seven sixes in a display of batting pyrotechnics at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here as Bangalore chased down the challenging target of 192 with three balls to spare to notch up their third win in eight matches.
The RCB skipper entered into record books as he became the only batsman to score two tons in a single IPL season. He also joined the likes of Brendon McCullum, Shane Watson, David Warner, AB de Villiers, Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag to hit two IPL centuries overall. The most number of IPL tons --five -- though still belongs to Chris Gayle.

Zaheer Khan won the toss and opted to bowl first.
GL XI: DR Smith, B McCullum, S Raina, A Finch, D Karthik, R Jadeja, I Kishan, J Faulkner, P Kumar, D Kulkarni, S Kaushik
DD XI: Q de Kock, S Samson, K Nair, JP Duminy, S Billings, R Pant, C Morris, A Mishra, M Shami, S Nadeem, Z Khan
This will be a battle of nerves between a batsman who has been one of the top run-scorers in the tournament, and two talented fast bowlers. Praveen relies more on his good line and length while Kulkarni is adept in swinging the ball with pace variation. If any of these two bowlers (who will ideally share the new ball), send the in-form de Kock back to the dugout early on in the innings, it will build some serious pressure on the Daredevils. This is very much a possibility, it happened in the last match. On the flip side, if de Kock gets his eye in then Lions have to be ready for some serious hammering from the southpaw.

Shreyas Iyer vs Dhawal Kulkarni: Shreyas is a very talented batsman but somehow he has not been able to pack the same punch which he did in Ranji Trophy 2015-16. He can certainly perform in T20 cricket as well since his scoring rate is phenomenal. Kulkarni with his shrewd outswingers will try to get the better of Shreyas. If he survives the first few overs and gets going, things might get difficult for the Lions, but at this moment Kulkarni is not just swinging the ball well but even having a good control over it.
Gujarat Lions will aim to bounce back from a shock defeat in their last match and cement their position at the top of the table when they meet Delhi Daredevils in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Tuesday. (Full IPL Coverage)
Bottom-placed Kings XI Punjab brought Gujarat's three-match winning streak to an end with a 23-run win here on Sunday. But despite the shock loss, Gujarat are still at the top of the standings with 12 points from eight matches.
Chasing a moderate target of 155 runs, the Gujarat batting line-up suffered a rare dip in form. Gujarat's strength has been consistent performances from their top order which has seen them achieve scores of around 200 runs on a regular basis.

Gujarat Lions vs Delhi Daredevils match prediction IPL Fantasy League 2016

Gujarat Lions vs Delhi Daredevils match prediction IPL Fantasy League 2016, Gujarat Lions vs Delhi Daredevils match prediction IPL Fantasy League 2016.DELHI: Stung by Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, table-toppers Gujarat Lions will be hungry to consolidate their No 1 spot and gain ground on Mumbai Indians, when they host Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday. Daredevils are four points behind with eight from six matches, and are living up to their reputation of being a team to watch - but refreshingly this season for all the right reasons.

The Rahul Dravid effect appears to be leaving an impression on Daredevils, who have played with flourish since losing their IPL 2016 opener. Young batsmen are being given license to bat higher and with flair, with the latest example being England's Sam Billings who marked his IPL debut with a match-winning fifty. With Carlos Brathwaite starting to make an impression, Daredevils are on the rise.
Gujarat, who posses an extremely varied bowling attack and a superb top order, should not be too rattled by their second loss in eight matches. Backed by what has so far been a vociferous home crowd in Rajkot, the home team - with 12 points - will be eager to claim a seventh win to push towards the IPL playoffs.
Venue: Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot
Date: May 3, 2016
Time: 20:00 IST
Weather: A hot day with temperatures reaching the low forties (Celsius).
Gujarat Lions' three-match winning streak came to an end yesterday after losing to Kings XI by 23 runs in the ongoing ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).But despite the loss, Gujarat Lions continue to enjoy the top spot in the table with 12 points from eight games.
The ever-improving Daredevils are not far behind as they are placed third with eight points from six games.
Gujarat Lions batting so far has revolved around explosive openers Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith. When the duo clicked, the Lions have managed to achieve scores around 200.
Both McCullum and Smith had a rare off day yesterday and the duo would be hoping to return among runs come tomorrow.
Skipper Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik made useful contributions at the middle even though they failed against Kings XI yesterday, but their main worry would be the batting form of two all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja.
Bravo and Jadeja have been handy for Raina with the ball but it is their performance with the bat which is a matter of concern.
Bravo has so far taken 10 wickets in eight matches, but contributed just 52 runs with the bat, while Jadeja has picked up five wickets from seven games and scored only 53 runs.
On the bowling front, seamers Dhawal Kulkarni and Praveen Kumar have been doing their bit upfront, while left-arm chinaman bowler Shivil Kaushik has impressive yesterday against Kings XI Punjab by scalping three wickets for just 20 runs from his four overs.

On Monday, Dravid and Upton sat in a restaurant in the team hotel and had one-on-one interactions, resembling personal appraisals, with every player for a few minutes. According to Sam Billings, who scored 54 off 34 balls against KKR, the exchange created an environment where even young players like Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer could approach them without hesitation and express themselves.
Upton was popular during his tenure as India’s mental conditioning coach.
“As a young international player from overseas to have an environment to come into which is great for confidence, to go out and play your natural game, in a short competition it is invaluable,” Billings said on Monday. The 24-year-old England player said Dravid has been helping players to become mentally tougher and read the game better, which can be the difference in this format.
“He’s been teaching us when you have got to sit in (curb your shots) for a little bit and when to attack.”
The inputs should be invaluable to someone like Iyer, who after being the highest Ranji Trophy run-scorer for Mumbai last season, has hit a rough patch, scoring 22 runs in five innings.
“He (Dravid) told me I need to open up my shoulder a bit more for seamers so that I can keep my head steady,” said Iyer when asked if Dravid was helping him with technique.

Live Cricket Score GL vs DD IPL 2016 Gujarat Lions at rajkot

Live Cricket Score GL vs DD IPL 2016 Gujarat Lions at rajkot, Live Cricket Score GL vs DD IPL 2016 Gujarat Lions at rajkot.Gujarat Lions (GL) are to set to hosts confident Delhi Daredevils (DD) in Match 31 of IPL 2016 at Rajkot. Both teams are almost at the same level and this could be anyone’s game. GL are resting well on top of the table with 12 points as for Delhi, they are slowly marching towards the top with 8 points in their kitty.

GL were overpowered to a defeat at their home ground against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP),  where Akshar Patel stole the show with his hat-trick, first one in this edition of IPL. Looking at the way GL performed in the previous game, they would surely settle for the same side. Here is the probable XI for GL as they take on DD. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Gujarat Lions vs Delhi Daredevils, IPL 2016, Match 31 at Rajkot
Top-Order: GL are happy with their top-order especially after Dwayne Smith coming along very well replacing Aaron Finch, he has been solid base in all the games till date in this edition. Smith and Brendon McCullum have complimented each other well. There previous outing between these teams saw a crackling game from the opening pair with Smith securing 53 and McCullum’s knock of 60. In case the top order fails at crucial time, skipper Suresh Raina covers it up just in time. The major chuck of the runs for GL  depend on these key players.
Gujarat Lions 39/3 (7.0) (Dinesh Karthik 3*, Suresh Raina 12*)
Leggie Amish Mishra's here. He's bowling them slow and getting the batsmen to stretch for runs. He's started off well -- only 4 of this one.
Gujarat Lions 35/3 (6.0) (Dinesh Karthik 1*, Suresh Raina 10*)
Shami will loook to continue the good work done by the other DD bowlers. Raina moves away and guides a short one over the thir man boundary -- a much-needed six this! He needs to up the pace if he wants to persist with this length. Eight off this one.
Gujarat Lions 27/3 (5.0)
DD is losing the plot -- they need group and rethink on their strategy. Morris continues and he's bowling in the high 140s here. Karthik's getting serious short ones here -- Morris has him jumping and fending ones off his chest. Terrific over, this -- only three off this.
Gujarat Lions 24/3 (4.0)
Now, both the openers are gone. Smith perishes, looking to smash the spinner out the park. Morris takes an easy catch at long-on. Two new batsmen -- Suresh Raina and Aaron Finch -- at the crease. And, he strike again, OUT! Finch's stay at the middle is short -- tries to sweep Nadeem's arm ball but only manages to get top edge. Pant takes a simple one at short fine leg. A dream start for DD here.
Middle-Order: Considering the previous game of GL, it was the middle-order that got the trick done. Top-order crashed and burned against KXIP but in their earlier game against DD , the top-order played a major role in their win. Dinesh Karthik has been valuable, contributing  30-40 runs in most of the games, which has been enough to keep the momentum going. Ravindra Jadeja could be fiery with his batting skills when needed, though that moment is yet to be witnessed in this season. As for Dwayne Bravo, the all-rounder is an hard-hitter although known for his bowling skills so far in IPL 9 he would want to bat well. Bravo managed to scalp just the wicket of JP Duminy against DD in the first game.
James Faulkner can get a call to bat up the order, after his crucial 32 off 27, which included 4-fours in the last match.  Complimenting him well was India U-19 skipper Ishan Kishan. All in all the middle-order can be the cover if the top-order breaks.
 Gujarat Lions 17/1 (3.0)
Zak strikes! McCullum's made a mess of that one, an error in judgment there -- he's misread the length on that one. He tries to pull one that wasn't that short and misses it. Terrific start for the old workhorse -- only three runs and the all-important wicket of McCullum.
Gujarat Lions 14/0 (2.0)
Chris Morris to bowl. He's getting it swing both sides and Smith's taking up the challenge. He's flicked an incoming one through the vacant midwicket region for a four and follows that with a nice-looking drive. That was a slower one too. GL openers get a move on -- nine came off this one.
Gujarat Lions 5/0 (1.0)
Nadeem to bowl the first over. The ball's drifting into Smith, here -- no turn off the pitch though. A top delivery to finish the over -- another one that went straight but quicker and hit McCullum, who's camping on the backfoot, on the pads. Very close call, that -- Umpire says there's come bat on that.
Here's the final XI for both teams:
Gujarat Lions:
Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, S. Raina, A Finch, D Karthik, R Jadeja, Ishan Kishan, J Faulkner, P Kumar, D Kulkarni, S Kaushik
Delhi Daredevils:
Quinton de Kock, S Samson, K Nair, JP Duminy, S Billings, Pant, C Morris, A Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Z Khan, S Nadeem
Zaheer Khan wins the toss and DD will bowl first.
Gujarat Lions’ three-match winning streak came to an end on Sunday after losing to Kings XI by 23 runs but despite the loss, they continue to enjoy the top spot in the table with 12 points from eight games. Delhi Daredevils, on the other hand, would be hoping to settle scores after losing by a narrow one run against Gujarat Lions at home.

Gujarat Lions lose their seventh wicket. Ishan Kishan is run out (Maxwell/Stoinis). They are 86/7, need 69 off 31 balls. Faulkner is still at the crease. Can GL do it?After 13 overs: Gujarat Lions 74 for 6: Gujarat have to pace up their innings as they have 80 runs to win in 7 overs. Ishan 18* (18), Faulkner 6* (8)

WICKET: After 10.1 overs: Gujarat Lions 57 for 6: It's a dream come true for Axar as he completes his hat-trick, the first this season and third overall in IPL. Though Jadeja is unhappy with the decision. How does it matter when umpire has raised his finger. Jadeja pokes it from the crease and gets a faint edge. The snickometre confirms that he had an edge. It is Patel's fourth wicket and it's a co-incidence that a bowler whose home is in Gujarat is dismantling a team from his state.
50 UP: Gurkeerat throws a wide and Gujarat's 50 comes up in 9 overs.
After 9 overs: Gujarat Lions 49 for 5: It's strategic time-out and Gujarat are a run away from 50, but the bad news for them is that they have lost five wickets. Kishan 6* (7), Jadeja 5* (6)
WICKET: After 6.6 overs: Gujarat Lions 39 for 5: Axar on a fire. It's unbelievable that he has taken three wickets in an over and too of established batsmen. This time his victim is Bravo. Another arm-ball and Bravo doesn't go for a drive. He gets an inside edge and the ball runs into stumps.
WICKET: After 6.5 overs: Gujarat Lions 39 for 4: Axar on a roll. The arm ball skids off the surface and Dinesh Karthik tries to drive it away but there is enough gap between bat and ball and the ball breaches in. Gujarat are in danger now.
WICKET: After 6.3 overs: Gujarat Lions 38 for 3: Axar Patel takes his first wicket and that too of in-form Smith. He doesn't get underneath the ball and gives a catch at long-off to Gurkeerat. He scores 15 off 18 balls.
WICKET: After 4.6 overs: Gujarat Lions 34 for 2: Mohit takes his second wicket and this time too he bowls out a batsman. Raina comes ahead, leaves the stump and wants to play it across the bat for a big shot at deep midwicket, but a good-length delivery by Mohit rattles middle stump. With such an important wicket, KXIP wrest momentum.
SIX: Raina hits Mohit for a six in third man on the third ball of the fifth over. It's a bumper, Raina slightly comes towards his right and hooks it for the maximum.
After 4 overs: Gujarat Lions 24 for 1: Good first over by Axar as he gives six runs in it. Smith 12* (10), Raina 10* (11)
WICKET: After 1.4 overs: Gujarat Lions 13 for 1: Mohit Sharma gives Gujarat an early jitter. A good-length delivery and he castles McCullum. The New Zealander scores just one run off three balls.
SIX: Smith hits the first six for Gujarat on the last ball of the first over. He plays across the bat and smashes it in the stands at deep mid wicket.
Gujarat Lions' innings stars: Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum open bat for Gujarat, while pacer Sandeep Sharma bowls the first over for Punjab.
Kings XI Punjab innings:
WICKET: After 18.5 overs: Kings XI Punjab 151 for 8: Praveen is on a roll as he finishes Punjab's innings with his second wicket. This time he bowls out to Cariappa.
WICKET: After 19.3 overs: Kings XI Punjab 153 for 9: Praveen takes his first wicket as he bowls out to Mohit Sharma.WICKET: After 18.5 overs: Kings XI Punjab 151 for 8: Bravo takes another wicket as he bowls out Saha. Saha scores 33 runs in his brisk innings of 19 balls. He hits four boundaries.
ings XI Punjab's spinner Axar Patel, on Sunday, entered the Indian Premier League history books as he took the 14th hat-trick of the cash-rich league.
Also, Axar became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the ongoing ninth season of the league, achieving the feat against Gujarat Lions at Rajkot.
Mohit Sharma struck twice in the first six overs to dent Lions' chase of 155 against the Murali Vijay-led Punjab.
Bowling the seventh over, the tall left-arm spinner dismissed explosive West Indian Dwayne Smith on the third delivery before getting rid of Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Bravo on the fifth and sixth deliveries, respectively. The Lions' batsmen were clueless against Axar's lethal weapon - the arm balls.

Vijay, who kept rotating his bowlers, took Axar off the attack and brought in Stoinis to bowl the ninth over.
However, coming back to bowl the 11th over, Axar sent Ravindra Jadeja walking back to the hut right on the first ball to complete his hat-tick.
Over 18 | Score 118/7 (Faulkner 31*, Kumar 9*)
Stoinis to bowl his final over, Lions need 49 off 18 balls. He started with a short ball and Praveen could only score a single off it. Second ball was a low full-toss, Faulkner hammered it towards deep midwicket, where Maxwell dived in front to take the catch, his judgement wasn't right and the ball went for a boundary. Faulkner scored a single off the next ball. Stoinis bowled a wide full-toss to Praveen, who cheekily worked it past third man for a boundary. Praveen flicked the next ball towards deep fine leg for a single. Faulkner attempted a big slog-sweep off the last ball, didn't connect and they ran a bye as Saha failed to collect the ball cleanly. 12 from the over.

Next ball was banged short and Faulkner worked it towards deep midwicket, just for a single though. Kumar on strike. Praveen worked the next ball towards point for a single. Twice in four days, Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune Supergiants have come down to one ball needed to try and stop Suresh Raina's team, but failed. Two thrilling last-ball wins have not only pushed Gujarat to the top of the IPL leaderboard with 12 points from seven matches, but showed that they're not about to throw the towel in.

Over 20 | Score 131/9 (Kulkarni 6*, Kaushik 0*)
Sandeep to bowl the final over, Lions need 30 off 6. Faulkner hit the first ball straight down the ground towards long-on and refused to take the single, much to the dismay of Dhawal Kulkarni. Sandeep followed it with a low full-toss and Faulkner hit it straight to the fielder at long-on. Kaushik is the new man in. Dhawal Kulkarni worked the third ball towards long-off and refused the single. Dhawal was offered width off the fourth ball and he cheekily played it past the keeper for a couple of runs. Dhawal cut the fifth ball past point for another couple of runs. Dhawal drove the last ball towards wide of long-off for another couple of runs. That's it, KXIP win the match by 23 runs.
Gujarat Lions
Pravin Tambe sat out on Friday, with 29-year-old chinaman spinner Shivil Kaushik making his debut in T20 cricket. The rookie should have had a wicket with his 12th delivery, except he overstepped, and the subsequent free hit was hit for six. There may be the temptation to bring back Tambe, unless the Lions management wants to instill confidence in young Kaushik.
Probable XI: 1 Dwayne Smith, 2 Brendon McCullum, 3 Suresh Raina (capt), 4 Dinesh Karthik (wk), 5 Ravindra Jadeja, 6 Dwayne Bravo, 7 Ishan Kistan, 8 James Faulkner, 9 Praveen Kumar, 10 Dhawal Kulkarni, 11 Pravin Tambe/Shivil Kaushik
Kings XI Punjab
Pardeep Sahu conceded 35 in three wicketless over in the previous game, and looks the likeliest to be dropped. Anureet Singh, KXIP's most successful pace bowler last season, could at last get a game unless the management punts on Shardul Thakur. Could there be a return for Wriddhiman Saha too, as wicketkeeper in place of young Nikhil Naik? Miller's wretched run as the team captain has coincided with a poor form with the bat. Since he is no more the skipper, will he be able to keep his place in the playing XI?

IPL 2016 GL vs KXIP Live Punjab seek turnaround under to second win

IPL 2016 GL vs KXIP Live Punjab seek turnaround under to second win, IPL 2016 GL vs KXIP Live Punjab seek turnaround under to second win.under the new leadership of Murali Vijay, Kings XI Punjab hoped for a new vigour to resurrect their flaying 2016 Indian Premier League season, and that vigour was provided by Axar Patel who became the 11th bowler in IPL history to claim a hat-trick, and riding on the superlative effort from the left-arm spinner (4/21) Kings XI Punjab notched up their second win of the season beating Gujarat Lions by 23 runs at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on Sunday.

A target of 155 did not seem to be a challenging one for GL who had so far steam-rolled their opposition en route to the top spot in the points tally, but on a Rajkot track that had just enough purchase for the spinners, the Suresh Raina-led side were undone by the left-arm spin Axar to crash to only their second defeat in seven matches.
It was the Indian pacer Mohit Sharma (3/32) who laid the foundation for the successful defence with the wickets of Brendon McCullum (1) and Raina (18) upfront, before Axar swooped in with a three-wicket over, that included the scalps of Dwayne Smith (15), Dinesh Karthik (2) and Dwayne Bravo (0). Yet that was not the hat-trick. After removing Karthik and Bravo off the fifth and sixth deliveries of the seventh over, Axar came back to bowl the 11th and off the first ball, he sent back Ravindra Jadeja (11) to effectively end the chase for GL. James Faulkner and Ishan Kishan (27) tried to get their team back on track, but Axar's spell of 4-0-21-4 had not just stopped the GL innings in its track, but had derailed it beyond repair.
Gujarat Lions innings:
It's fair to say Vijay has turned it around for Punjab. The newly-appointed skipper led from the front with the bat and scored a 41-ball 55 to take Punjab to 155, which looked a nothing score for Gujarat before their batters stepped on the field. However, Mohit Sharma and Axar Patel picked up seven wickets between them to hand Gujarat a thrashing. Axar picked up the first hat-trick of the season as well. One of the rarest days on which Gujarat Lions batting has failed to fire. Kings XI were pumped up today and should look to carry forward today's good work. (Points Table)

18.47 IST: OUT! Hat-trick for Axar. He removes Ravindra Jadeja for 11. The left-hander poked at the ball fired from wide of the crease and made the long walk back. Karthik, Bravo and now Jadeja. It's been a dream day for Punjab and Axar. GL 57/6 in 10.1 overs.
Gurkeerat Mann to continue. Vijay has a lot of options and he is using them well.
18.37 IST: Seven runs from Sandeep's over. Two left-handers in Jadeja and Kishan at the middle for Gujarat. GL 49/5 in 9 overs.

18.34 IST: Another three-run over from Cariappa. The young man is keeping it tight. Pressure on GL. Axar and Mohit have rocked the Gujarat top-order. GL 42/5 in 8 overs.
Cariappa to bowl
18.32 IST: OUT! Axar gets his third one in the over. This time the victim is Dwayne Bravo. Another arm ball and Bravo makes the long walk back. Axar is running riot here. GL reeling at 39/5 in 7 overs.
18.30 IST: OUT! Axar gets one more. Arm ball and Karthik drags it onto his stumps. GL 39/4 in 6.5 overs.
18.29 IST: OUT! Axar strikes, removes the big-hitting West Indian Dwayne Smith. He didn't time it well and found the long on fielder. GL 38/3 in 6.2 overs.
18.25 IST: Good over from the leg-break bowler Cariappa to finish the powerplay. GL 36/2 in 6 overs.
Dinesh Karthik is the new man for Gujarat. KC Cariappa to bowl his first over in IPL 2016 for Kings XI.
1820 IST: OUT! Massive wicket for KXIP. Mohit hits the timber for the second time in the day, this time to dismiss GL skipper Suresh Raina for 18. Raina played a poor cross-batted shot to see the ball shattering the stumps. KXIP have started well. GL 34/2 in 5 overs.
After Vijay 41-ball 55-run knock had helped KXIP overcome their usual middle-order wobble to post a total of 155 - that seemed 15-20 runs less than a par total - it was imperative for KXIP to put in a special effort, but with GL opener Smith tonking Sandeep Sharma for a four and six in the first over, it was far from the start KXIP would have hoped for. But, Mohit provided the opening by rattling McCullum's middle stump in the second over. Sharma's plan of bowling stump-to stump line worked again when another middle stump rattle signalled the demise of GL skipper Raina. GL were on the backfoot, but with an in-form middle-order to follow, they would have fancied their chances.

IPL 2016 Indian Premier League 2016 IPL

Saha steps out and flashes, gets a thick edge through Third-man over the slips for four. Another run-out referall, and Saha is safe. And Bravo is still blowing bubbles at the batsmen, not giving any scope for shot-making. Oops, spoke too soon. Saha now clouts a short ball over the Covers for four.
KXIP 123/5 after 16 overs (W Saha 10 off 8 | D Miller 26 off 23)
Miller and Saha have to get a move on now if they are to make at least 150-odd. And they do. Miller caresses Faulkner through Square-leg for four and then Saha sends an outside-edge through Third-man for another four. An appeal for run-out goes a-begging as Miller makes it back for two off the last ball. Great running today by Miller.
KXIP 110/5 after 15 overs (W Saha 4 off 5 | D Miller 19 off 20)
And Bravo bowls an entire over of slower deliveries. So, one more over of spin to follow Kaushik's, that was, then? 5 runs off it. And a nice low-five shared by Bravo and Miller.
KXIP 104/5 after 14 overs (W Saha 1 off 1| D Miller 16 off 18)
Murali Vijay (55 from 41) will not be there to finish the innings. Kaushik strikes again. Bowls that tantalisingly line outside off and induces a top-edge from Vijay's slog-sweep and Bravo does the champion dance on the Midwicket boundary. And that's his spell. A remarkable one. A lot of Kaushik's deliveries are mild googlies, thankfully. I couldn't stomach a left-armer turning it into the right-hander. Now, Miller, relieved of captaincy and captain's support, must take on the mantle of scoring, looks like.
KXIP 100/4 after 13 overs (M Vijay 55 off 40 | D Miller 13 off 14)
James Faulkner into the attack now. Bowls a quiet over for just six runs. Great to see Vijay applaud Mller's commitment after he dives to make his ground.
KXIP 94/4 after 12 overs (M Vijay 51 off 36 | D Miller 11 off 12)
Oh lord. Kaushik is still in the attack. His line is predictably on and outside off-stump. How he aims there so accurately with his arm shooting out like a chameleon's tongue is beyond me. But Vijay manages to cut him fine for four through Third-man, and reaches his half-century. Captain's knock already. Can he continue on and help Kings XI overcome the mid-innings flutter?
KXIP 86/4 after 11 overs (M Vijay 46 off 33 | D Miller 9 off 9)
Now, Dwayne Bravo comes in. More deceptive bowling to come here, for sure. Begins with a roll-of-the-wrist slower delivery. Then follows it up with a quick bouncer that hurries Miller into a cramped pull. But the tight grip is lost as Miller converts a slow yorker into a full-toss and touches it for four through Fine-leg. 8 from the over.
KXIP 78/4 after 10 overs (M Vijay 43 off 31 | D Miller 3 off 5)
Miller plays out the hat-trick ball with an inside-edge onto the boot. Sad for Kaushik. And a quiet over passes with the batsmen trying to come to terms with the fact that a stuck water-sprinkler seems to be chucking cricket balls at them.
KXIP 74/4 after 9 overs (M Vijay 42 off 29 | D Miller 1 off 1)
Oh dear. Gurkeerat Singh (0 from 3) is the next one to go, run out. And the Strategic Timeout comes up to give Kings XI some time to catch a breather from all the gratuitous collapsing. Miller is in now, and gets off the mark with a soft push through Mid-on.

KXIP 70/3 after 8 overs (M Vijay 39 off 27 | G Singh 0 off 0)

Now the Chinaman from Gujarat — Shivil Kaushik — is here to entertain. What a sight he is. I am scared, mesmerised and disoriented at the same time when I watch him deliver — no, squirt — the ball. And he confuses Shaun Marsh (1 from 3) too, who has now chipped it tamely to Suresh Raina at Short-Midwicket. And Glenn Maxwell (0 from 1) comes in, flails a cut and walks back bemusedly as the umpire raises his finger for caught-behind. What an over for Kaushik, who ends with a hat-trick ball coming up next over. Kings XI's awesome start has been cut back quite some.
KXIP 67/1 after 7 overs (M Vijay 37 off 24 | S Marsh 0 off 1)
Stoinis is getting his kicks from abandoning the crease, here. Now he wallops Jadeja past the Long-on fielder for four. And now, Stoinis (27 from 17) is gone. He was stepping out once too often, and Jadeja bowls a clever off-break slightly quicker and wider, gets past Stoinis's flailing bat and Karthik whips the bails off even as the batsman looks behind nonplussed.
KXIP 59/0 after 6 overs (M Vijay 35 off 22 | M Stoinis 22 off 14)

Stoinis continues attacking. Steps out to a short pacey ball from Kulkarni and pulls it with a great last-second adjustment to the Midwicket boundary for four. 8 runs off the over.

KXIP 51/0 after 5 overs (M Vijay 31 off 18 | M Stoinis 17 off 12)

And with the introduction of spin in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, Stoinis finally gets going. Steps out like a caged beast and rocks a six over Long-on. He has quite a high backlift that hindered him against pace. But Jadeja's short, slow half-tracker is a different story. And then he cuts beautifully past Backward Point to end the over with a four. Great start and maintaining the run-rate at around 10 here. Without sounding horribly premature, is this finally going to be Kings XI's day?

KXIP 34/0 after 4 overs (M Vijay 31 off 17 | M Stoinis 3 off 7)

Kulkarni is bowling well to Stoinis, keeping him quiet. But he gets the treatment from Vijay, who has cracked it through Cover once again for a four. Kulkarni gets some movement off the deck to Stoinis. At the score of 38, it was Smith who fell for just 15 to Patel, after being caught by Gurkeerat Singh in the seventh over. Just a run later, it was Dinesh Karthik, who fell for a mere couple, after being cleaned by Patel, followed by Dwayne Bravo off the next ball for an unfortunate duck., thus putting him on a hat-trick off the next ball of his fresh over, as it was in the 11th over he dismissed Ravindra Jadeja for just 11, after being caught behind by Wriddhiman Saha, thus competing his hat-trick, and ending an 18-run stand between Jadeja and Ishan Kishan.

As the score touched 86, it was Kishan, who fell for 27 off an unfortunate run out, as a 29-run stand along with James Faulkner came to an end. It was followed by a strong 39-runs stand between Faulkner and Praveen Kumar, before Kumar fell for just 15 to Mohit, after being caught by KC Cariappa in the 19th over. The second ball of the last over saw Faulkner falling for a healthy 32 to Sandeep Sharma, after being caught by David Miller, as KXIP steered to a comfortable 23-run win.

And Faulkner (32 from 27) is now gone too as Gujarat Lions descend into the doldrums, with 30 runs to get off 4 deliveries. He miscued a slog straight into Miller's hands at Long-on.
GL 125/8 after 19 overs (J Faulkner 32 off 25 | D Kulkarni 0 off 0 || need 30 from 6 balls)
Cariappa! He's tapped it into the boundary for four at Third-man after Praveen Kumar lobs it in his direction. But he is absolved off the last ball of the over as he gets a mulligan, and pouches Praveen Kumar (15 from 13) this time. Great bowling by Mohit Sharma. Lions will not likely make this target now.
GL 118/7 after 18 overs (J Faulkner 31 off 24 | P Kumar 9 off 8 || need 37 from 12 balls)

Faulkner swings. Ball rises and starts to fall into Deep Midwicket. Maxwell dives. Maxwell yorks himself. Maxwell looks sheepish as the ball trickles past him for four. Stoinis thinks the ball is still in play and reprimands his fellow Australian for looking sheepish while there is still work to be done, and it's Stoinis's turn to look sheepish as Maxwell points to the boundary. Now, Kumar dabs it away for four through Third-man. And Faulkner swish-and-misses the last ball. This over helped Lions somewhat. 12 off it.
GL 106/7 after 17 overs (J Faulkner 26 off 21 | P Kumar 3 off 5 || need 49 from 18 balls)
Faulkner has been too quiet tonight. But he tonks the last ball of the over, a full-toss on off-stump, over the Covers for four. Some life injected into the chase; the Lions haven't dozed off.
GL 99/7 after 16 overs (J Faulkner 19 off 18 | P Kumar 1 off 1 || need 56 from 24 balls)
Faulkner absolutely bludgeons a length ball straight for four, just missing Mohit Sharma's head. Breaks the monotony somewhat as the first cheer goes up since about a gazillion overs. Faulkner trying to muscle these balls now, but unable to find the boundary.

IPL 2016 Todays Match Schedule |T20 Vivo IPL 9 Live Highlights, IPL 2016 Todays Match Schedule |T20 Vivo IPL 9 Live Highlights. His assessment is correct for the nine games that did not see a par score. In five of them, teams lost two or more wickets in power-play. Once that is the case, rebuilding is on the mind of batsmen. Mumbai lost four wickets against Pune, Daredevils lost four against Knight Riders, Sunrisers lost three against KKR and Mumbai lost two against Gujarat and Sunrisers.

While these games may highlight the haste right from the start, with batsmen unsure of what would be a par score, the remaining games show the importance of losing the plot at a crucial stage.
After building a foundation, KXIP lost David Miller and Glenn Maxwell in the same over to Gujarat’s Dwayne Bravo. Wriddhiman Saha couldn’t go with the flow and consumed 25 deliveries to score 20. Pune too experienced that as they lost three wickets in the space of 30 runs against Gujarat.
Mumbai all-rounder Keiron Pollard said it was not about batting first, as the pressure was no less batting second. “Batsmen chasing have a lot of pressure, yes, you know what you are chasing, but still you will have to go out and chase. If you lose a couple of wickets, you are on the back foot and might have to change your game. It is about giving important contributions,”
Bowlers: With the match being played at Delhi, skipper Rohit’s trump card has to be his pacers and he will depend a lot upon Jasprit Bumrah who knows the Indian condition pretty well and is enjoying a very good patch currently. The other two names will be Tim Southee and Mitchell McClenaghan. Rohit’s India teammate Hardik Pandya has so far failed to impress in this edition of IPL and the skipper can give Nathu Singh a chance on this ground while Harbhajan leads the spin alongside Krunal Pandya.
Mumbai Indians likely XI: Rohit Sharma(c), Unmukt Chand, Ambati Rayudu (wk), Jos Buttler, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Tim Southee, Nathu Singh, Jasprit Bumrah
MI's big profile players stepping up augurs well for the team. Add to that new addition Krunal Pandya's utility and the side seems a formidable one. That though is one thing. But whether their foreign players can stack up equally to a promising bunch of domestic youngsters at the Daredevils will be worth witnessing.

Delhi Daredevils
Having won consecutive matches, the Daredevils are unlikely to make any changes to the XI that beat RCB. However, if the surface assists turn, they could consider playing Imran Tahir in place of Carlos Brathwaite, which can make for a riveting spell of bowling between him, Amit Mishra and Pawan Negi. MI have struggled against spin and that is something Zaheer Khan must have definitely taken note of.
Probable XI: 1 Quinton de Kock (wk), 2 Shreyas Iyer, 3 Sanju Samson, 4 Karun Nair, 5 JP Duminy, 6 Carlos Brathwaite/Imran Tahir, 7 Chris Morris, 8 Pawan Negi, 9 Zaheer Khan (capt), 10 Amit Mishra, 11 Mohammed Shami
Mumbai Indians
Having tinkered way too much in the first five matches, they seemed to have found the ideal team combination against RCB. Parthiv Patel's run at the top has been disappointing though. MI already have a wicketkeeper playing in Jos Buttler. In such a scenario, drafting in Unmukt Chand ahead of Parthiv may not be that bad a move. Rohit Sharma getting back to opening the innings has given MI wins, hence that is something the team management must not consider altering.

Experts feel a target makes life easier for batsmen, helping them chalk out strategy. In 15 games, only six have seen par scores (160 or more), and in these the side batting first has rarely lost wickets in a bunch at crucial situations.

Ahead of the Delhi Daredevils match against Mumbai Indians, Daredevils middle-order batsman Karun Nair too felt the need to keep wickets batting first. “Keeping wickets in hand is what I would do,” he said.
In the six games where teams have managed over 160, there have been partnerships and fewer wickets have been lost at crucial intervals. For instance, KXIP made 161 against Gujarat Lions and the innings was studded with partnerships. Kolkata Knight Riders made 187 against Mumbai because three of their first four batsmen scored. Royal Challengers scored 227 against Sunrisers Hyderabad with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers putting up a show, and the side scored 191 against Daredevils with the top order firing again.
“Batsmen have gone for too much batting first and have fallen behind. As the tournament progresses, the balance will shift,” said Nair.
It is Match 17 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 as Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium, Delhi on Saturday. Both MI and DD have four points in hand currently, winning two of the matches they have played and looking at the squads they have, it is surely going to be a neck-to-neck competition between the two teams. The defending champions started off on a disappointing note while DD also had a similar run before both the sides manged to register two wins later on. With both the teams getting into the groove gradually, it will be interesting to see how a well-bound MI faces a freshly combined DD. Ahead of their clash, here is the likely XI for Mumbai Indians.
Top-order: The top-order of MI has their captain Rohit Sharma opening for the side. Rohit has led the team to two successful hunts in IPL and knows the game pretty well. With him on top, it becomes quite strong. For the other end, Rohit can opt for Unmukt Chand. The latter has before played well in IPL for the team and is coming from a good domestic season. His experience as a Delhi cricketer can also come in handy for the team. With the top two settled, the No. 3 spot goes to Ambati Rayudu who looks in a good touch too.
Middle-order: The pillar of middle-order has to be Jos Buttler. The England batsman has done decently with the bat so far but is expected to better that. Buttler is the one upon whom the team can rely post a top-order collapse and he will have to take up the responsibilities looking at the experience that he has. Following him, comes out Kieron Pollard who has strong hands to hit it all over the park while Harbhajan Singh can be sent after Pollard to complement the batting. After him, Krunal Pandya will be the right person to take the crease and add some last moment runs.
While MI has mostly huffed and puffed on their way to winning two matches out of five, the Daredevils have bounced back strongly after their loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders. The win against Kings XI Punjab gave them the confidence, and beating Royal Challengers Bangalore further solidified that belief. Opener Quinton de Kock, who is fast becoming their batting mainstay, has 184 runs in three innings, including a 51-ball 108. The untested batting order might be a concern, but Karun Nair's timely contribution, to go with Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer gives them hope.

IPL 2016 - Live Cricket Streaming & Live Cricket Score Samson, Duminy power Delhi Daredevils to 164/4 against Mumbai Indians, IPL 2016 - Live Cricket Streaming & Live Cricket Score Samson, Duminy power Delhi Daredevils to 164/4 against Mumbai Indians.NEW DELHI: Confident after back-to-back wins, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to continue their winning form when they take on an underperforming Kings XI Punjab at Rajiv Gandhi International stadium, their home ground, in the second match of the day on Saturday. With two wins, SRH have somewhat got back their campaign back on track, while KXIP have slumped to the bottom of the table with three losses.

After losing two games in a row, SRH set their house in order and registered two wins with huge margins - first defeating Mumbai Indians by seven wickets and then taming Gujarat Lions with 10 wickets. Since the inception of the IPL, a 10-wicket win has only occurred eight times. Kings XI are in desperate need of a win here, but against a resurgent SRH, it won't come easy.Asked about Saturday's game, Nair said: "I think we have momentum on our side. Mumbai Indians are a good side, they are the defending champions. So whichever team plays well on the day will win the game. We are just concentrating on our process. We will give our best on the ground." Chasing a target has been the preferred choice of most teams in the ongoing IPL and Nair feels all the sides have worked on this aspect over the years.
"The teams have become smart over the years. They come out with certain strategies. They know how to chase and when to go after which bowler. The teams are chasing really well. In the past years chasing has been a problem for every team but every team has really worked on that aspect," the batsman from Karnataka said.
Nair feels having a young and vibrant side under Rahul Dravid's mentorship has been a blessing in disguise for the Daredevils this time around. "The good thing is that all of us are young and we want to improve everyday. Everyone is looking forward to their opportunities. All of us are hungry to do well for the team.
The intensity on the field is also very high," he said. "I have been lucky to be mentored by him (Dravid) for the last few years. For any youngster to have him in the team is an inspiration. We are just trying to make the most of him being there and get as much out of him as possible," Nair said about Dravid.
Nair said the level between domestic cricket and IPL is vast and as batsman he just wants to make the most of the opportunities. "I think there is a lot of difference between domestic cricket and IPL. The mindset changes but cricket doesn't change. I look forward to playing my natural game. The level of cricket is different in domestic and IPL. It's a huge step for any young domestic player," Pandya will be under extreme pressure as his brother has shown his calibre both with the bat and the ball. Sharma said “He [Krunal Pandya] has been impressive, there is no doubt about that. He’s got something about him. He knows his bowling and understands the conditions well. It makes my job easier. He sets his own field and that shows.”
Sharma will be a happier man as Kieron Pollard found his power-hitting skills in the last match against Royal Challengers. Pollard's 39 off 19 balls proved crucial for the victory against RCB.
The bowling department led by Southee, McCleneghan, Bumrah and Harbhajan Singh has done extremely well. Mumbai Indians, with this settled side, can look forward to the forthcoming matches with confidence.
My playing XI for Mumbai Indians:
Rohit Sharma (captain), Parthiv Patel, Ambati Rayudu, Jose Buttler, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenegan and Tim Southee.

Iyer was caught by Ambati Rayudu after scoring 19 off 20 balls, which included a six and a four. Harbhajan Singh then sent back Karun Nair in the next over as the young batsman gave away a catch to Southee at deep backward square leg. After losing two wickets in quick time, Samson and JP Duminy took Delhi to 65/3 at the halfway mark.

IPL 2016 Samson

Samson then chose Harbhajan's 12th over to increase the tempo as he hit a massive 108-metre six over the bowler in the first ball and two balls later followed that up with a four at backward square leg. The veteran offspinner bore the burn as he conceded 14 in the over, highest of the innings. In the next over, Mumbai was in a spot of bother when Hardik and Jos Buttler collided at deep backward square leg while trying to save a boundary and seemed to have hurt themselves.
Samson completed his fifty off 40 balls with the help of a six and four boundaries as he kept the Delhi charge moving forward with Duminy in the middle. They took the hosts to 110/3 after 15 overs to set a good platform for the final assault. McClenaghan came back to dismiss Samson in the 17th over to end the crucial partnership with Duminy. But thanks to the Samson-Duminy stand, Delhi scored 99 runs in the final ten overs and converted the total to a competitive one.
